About FBISE

The Federal Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (FBISE) Islamabad is an autonomous federal educational board that administers and regulates secondary (SSC) and higher secondary (HSSC) education for federal institutions, cantonments, Pakistan international schools abroad and other affiliated institutes. It is responsible for prescribing courses, conducting examinations, publishing results and issuing certificates for SSC and HSSC levels.

FBISE publishes regular notifications, date-sheets, admission and registration procedures, syllabi and model question papers for students and affiliated institutions. The board also provides online services for admission, registration, results viewing, verification and affiliation application processing.

Key Exams & Calendar

FBISE conducts annual and supplementary/second-annual examinations at SSC (Matric) and HSSC (Inter) levels across different groups including Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, ICS, I.COM and General Science streams. The board releases date-sheets for each examination cycle (1st Annual / 2nd Annual / Supplementary) and special technical diplomas where applicable.

Example: SSC & HSSC date-sheets and centre notifications are published publicly as PDF date-sheets prior to exam sessions.

How students use these pages

  • Download date-sheets to know exam dates, reporting times and centers.
  • Access syllabus & model question papers to practise SLO-based questions.
  • Register and submit admission forms online via the board’s admission portal.
  • View results by roll number and download marksheets from the results portal.

Syllabus, Model Papers & SLO-based Examination

FBISE hosts detailed syllabi and model question papers for SSC (Parts I & II) and HSSC (Parts I & II), including test items and objective-style practice papers designed to reflect the board’s SLO (Student Learning Outcomes) based assessment approach introduced recently. Students should download the official syllabus and model papers from the board’s “Syllabus & Model Papers” page to prepare according to the board’s format.

Tip: Model papers include both objective and subjective formats — practising these helps you understand the board’s question style.

Results, Roll No Slips & Verification

Results are published online on the FBISE results portal where students can search by roll number, name or institution. Roll number slips and centre notifications are also made available on the official site before each examination. FBISE also provides services such as result verification, migration certificates and duplicate mark sheets through designated online application portals.

Use the board’s official result portal to confirm marks and access downloadable mark-sheets and transcripts.

Registration, Admission & Affiliation

Institutions and students must complete online registration and admission forms for SSC, HSSC and technical/diploma programs. FBISE supports institution affiliation services (fresh and renewal affiliation) and maintains a public list/database of affiliated institutes. The affiliation process includes a checklist of pre-requisites, fees and documentation which institutions submit through the FBISE affiliation token system.

Institutions can access affiliation and admission services via the FBISE portal and token-based logins.

Notifications, Circulars & Announcements

FBISE regularly publishes notifications for fee schedules, exam rule changes, amendments to examination regulations, date extensions, and special instructions for students and examination centres. Bookmark the official News & Events page to stay updated on the latest board orders and clarifications.
